Campground


 Location: From Quincy: 
Cars: Take Bucks Lake Rd. west until it ends at Big Creek Rd. Turn right onto Big Creek Rd. Turn right onto  Bucklin Rd (Forest Rt. 33) and go 3.5 miles to campground on right.
RV's: Take Bucks Lake Rd. west for 9 miles. Turn left onto Big Creek Rd, continue for 11 miles  to Bucklin Rd (Forest Rt. 33). Turn right onto  Bucklin Rd (Forest Rt. 33) and go 3.5 miles to campground on right. (taking this route will have you avoid 15% grades)

From Oroville:
Take Oroville Dam Blvd., turn right on Olive/Hwy 162 and follow it until you reach Bucklin Rd. Turn left onto Bucklin Road, campground is 3.5miles on the right. This route is only open during the summer months after the road is plowed. Call ahead for road status, Mt. Hough Ranger District at (530) 283-0555.
 Sites: 19. Family sites. Each site has a table, bbq pit and bear box. Tent or RV. 14 day stay limit.
 Elevation: 5,100 ft.
 Reservations: Sites available on first come, first serve basis.
 Rates: 2012 nightly rate is $23.00 per night/ $25.00 for Prime Lake (lake front)sites, max 6 persons, 2 vehicles*.

Description: Sundew campgrounds is one of the most treasured campgrounds in the area. Most sites are lake front and all sites are lake view and have a great view of the Bucks Lake Wilderness Area which is directly across the lake. Bucks lake is known for great fishing and warmer water. Sandy Point Boat Launch is only a half mile away and also offers coin operated showers and boat rentals! A lush variety of fir and pine trees offer great shade during the warm summer months. Mooring of boats is possible at several prime lake (lake front) sites. Hikning and biking trails are nearby, including the Pacific Crest Trail.

Mill Creek Campground

 Description: Mill Creek is our most popular campground at Bucks Lake. This campground has great access to the water and every site is either lake front or has a great view of the lake. Great shade is provided by pine and fir trees. It is less than half a mile from Sandy Point Boat Launch where you can use coin operated showers or take advantage of their boat rentals. This is an excellent campground for those who want to explore the surrounding Bucks Lake Wilderness as well as enjoy the beautful west bank of Bucks Lake.

 Description:  Hutchins Group camp accommodates both tent and trailer camping and holds 25 people at each site.  Located in the Bucks Lake Recreation Area, it is approximately 17 miles southwest of Quincy.  The area offers year-round recreation opportunities, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.  There is a bear box on site.This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.
